A round of promotions at Tyr

Sallyanne Phillips – promoted to Legal Director

Sallyanne has been with the firm since early 2021 after training and practising at a leading commercial law firm.

Working in both the Property Litigation and Commercial Litigation teams, Sallyanne provides strategic and commercial legal advice to a wide client base.

Sallyanne says of her promotion: “Working with Tyr is a breath of fresh air. Not only is emphasis on giving our client’s the best all-round advice which means that internally there is a lot of collaboration but there is also emphasis on truly developing and supporting everyone within the Tyr team. I was delighted to be promoted to Legal Director and am proud to have been part of the firm’s journey so far. It’s a pleasure to and to work with such exceptional and experienced colleagues.”

Working in the Commercial Property team, Rhys works across wide range of commercial property clients including those in the retail and industrial sectors, housebuilders, commercial organisations and SMEs, and is an expert networker.  

Rhys was recently shortlisted for Young Lawyer of the Year in Insider Media’s Young Professionals Awards 2025.

Rhys says of his promotion: “Since joining Tyr, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working closely with a diverse range of high-quality clients and helping them, above all, meet their commercial goals. I was ecstatic to be promoted to Senior Associate within a fantastic, vibrant and talented team and I am proud to be a part of a firm which continues to grow and flourish.”

Fiona Barber – promoted to Senior Associate

Fiona works in the Commercial Litigation team and is the Vice President at Leeds Law Society. As a key figure in the Leeds legal community representing her cohort, Fiona works on matters related to complex commercial disputes and group actions.

Fiona says of her promotion: “I am thrilled to be promoted to Senior Associate. I’m so grateful to my colleagues, clients and everyone who has supported me at Tyr.  It’s been a rewarding journey so far, and I’m excited for what lies ahead in this next chapter.  I’m looking forward to continuing to grow and contribute to the amazing work we’re doing at Tyr!”
