Examples of the team’s recent and previous experience

  • We acted for a leading regional housebuilder to draft and advise on a strategic option agreement in respect of a residential development site notwithstanding considerable issues emanating from two historic option agreements at the property and the adjoining land of the landowner.
  • We advised an international client on its sale of a brownfield site with outline planning permission for residential development of c700 houses crafting a bespoke suite of documents containing intricate drafting around a multi-faceted security profile.
  • We advised on a multiple landowner acquisition of a large mixed-use site allocated for in excess of 1,700 new homes and over 1 million square feet of commercial development space creating a plethora of strategic options and associated contracts.
  • We acted for a developer client in its role as promoter advising on an agreement concerning the promotion of a potential development site addressing a multitude of boundary issues and title defects.
  • We are advising a client as owner and promoter on a multiple landowner residential development site involving option agreement variation and negotiation alongside conditional contracts with multiple buyers.
  • On an ongoing basis we advise various top 10 plc housebuilders on their immediate and strategic land acquisitions, including:
    • advising on the completion of option agreements and purchase of various phases of a 1,000+ house development including major highways infrastructure an estimated GDV in excess of £100m.
    • advising on the conditional acquisition of a site for c300 new houses and an estimated GDV in excess of £45,000,000.
    • advising in relation to a high value 400 unit scheme post-acquisition, which included a compensation claim (with a value of c£1,500,000) with Northern Powergrid in respect of overhead electric lines affecting a development.
